Terms of Use for Fix a Printer Troubleshooting Guides

By using fixaprinter.com (“Fix a Printer”) you agree to these terms. Last updated 17 October 2026.

General information only

The guides on this site are general troubleshooting information for common printers on Windows 11 and macOS. Printers, firmware and operating systems differ and change over time, so a step may not match your device exactly. Read your printer’s manual and safety instructions, and follow the steps at your own risk.

Accuracy and updates

We write each guide carefully and check it against the sources it lists, such as Microsoft and Apple documentation. Each guide shows the date it was last updated. Software updates and new printer models can change menus and behaviour after that date, so treat each guide as a starting point and check your printer’s own documentation when something differs. You can report a step that no longer matches through the contact page.

Safety

Always turn off and unplug a printer before reaching inside it. Let laser printers cool down before touching parts near the fuser. Do not open power supplies or parts marked as hazardous. If a step does not match what you see, stop rather than force a part.

Warranty

Opening parts of a printer that the manual does not tell you to open, or using third-party parts or supplies, may affect the manufacturer’s warranty. Check your warranty terms before attempting a repair.

No services

Fix a Printer does not sell products, repairs or support services and does not provide one-to-one technical support. Nothing on this site creates a service relationship.

Independence and trademarks

Fix a Printer is an independent publication, not affiliated with or endorsed by any printer, computer or software maker. Product and company names such as Windows, macOS and printer brand names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe which products a guide applies to.
